LINCOLN, Nebr. (January 31, 2024) -- Stu Snyder revealed last year that he would be transitioning away from full-time competition by 2024, but unexpected opportunities have emerged to keep him engaged throughout the season. He will now focus on capturing a coveted 410 Sprint Car Championship at Huset's Speedway while piloting the Bowers' Motorsports #81.
"We assessed our situation and determined that it wasn't time to withdraw from weekly competition, mainly being that the kids can still compete locally on Fridays," Snyder stated. "I am grateful for the opportunity to compete in the Bowers Motorsports car and look forward to an enjoyable season on the road." A provisional schedule is set to be released in the coming days, featuring a selection of 305, 360, and 410 events throughout the Midwest. Prominent 410 shows include the High Limit exhibition at Eagle Raceway, the Huset's High Bank Nationals, and the Huset's Shootout. Snyder is slated to participate in some Malvern Bank 360 Series races as well as regional 305 events, aiming for a spot at the esteemed 305 Nationals held annually in Belleville, Kansas. "Our team has been working diligently during the off season preparing our 305 and 360 cars. I'm looking forward to getting back behind the wheel this year to represent my partners and pursue additional victories." A native of Nebraska, he has achieved more than 75 feature wins, with 34 of those victories occurring between 2020 and 2023. He also holds five championship titles and several Most Popular Driver and Best Appearing Car honors. LINCOLN, Nebr. (December 11, 2022) - Stu Snyder has announced his retirement from full-time competition at the end of 2023. To close out his career, 'Superman' will take on a nearly 50-race schedule, competing primarily throughout the Midwest. A tentative schedule has been released by SLS Motorsports with 47 events slated for the '23 season. Snyder will compete in five different states - Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and South Dakota. Three National attempts, American Sprint Car Series appearances and some double-duty events are also slated on the schedule released. With the release of the stacked schedule also comes the announcement for Stu Snyder's veer from full-time competition at the end of the year. In 2024, Stu will move toward competing at specials only, on a 'when-able' basis. Snyder's son, Kruz, will take over the reigns and begin his career in motorsports at the beginning of '24. Stu's plans are to center his focus on getting Kruz going and dabble his own competition back into sprint cars here and there as time allows. "I've had a very successful career in sprint car racing," Snyder expressed. "I've met a lot of great people along the way, have had some of the best partners, fans, and crew that the industry has to offer, and have also experienced the highs and lows of what motorsports has to offer. It's time for me to step away from full-time competition and allow my son the chance to thrive in motorsports, given that's what he wants to do moving forward." Snyder has more than 70 feature wins, assembling 29 of those victories from 2020 - 2022. He has accumulated four championships and a handful of Most Popular Driver & Best Appearing Car honors.
